Welcome to the IMC USA Community. Thank you for your decision to join us.

Choose the membership type below that best fits you.

A Professional Member is a practicing or potential management consultant, who agrees to subscribe to the IMC Code of Ethics. Applicants must provide evidence of at least one of the criteria listed below:

  • Minimum of one year's experience as a  consultant to management.
  • At least five-years experience in management.
  • At least five years experience in a technical or professional specialty.
  • Masters Degree in Business or related field (e.g., MBA ).
  • Currently working as a consultant within an IMC USA Accredited Practice.

Benefits: Professional members are voting members and receive the full benefits of the Institute.

Dues: Annual dues are $325 (pro-rated quarterly for first time members) plus a $50 application fee.


Young Professional membership is an entry-level membership category for potential consultants or early stage practicing consultants who: 

  • Are 29 years of age or younger
  • Agree to subscribe to the IMC Code of Ethics

Benefits: Young Professional members are voting members and receive the full benefits of the Institute.
Dues: Annual dues are $195 (pro-rated quarterly for first time members) plus a $50 application fee.


A Student Member is a full-time college or university student who has an interest in management consulting and supports the objectives of the Institute. The reduced-rate Student Membership is for students in good standing who are actively studying at an Accredited University or College, may become management consultants, and who agree to abide by the IMC USA Code of Ethics.

Student members may continue at the student rate for 12 months immediately subsequent to graduation. Student members do not actively pursue consulting clients.

Dues: Annual dues are $___ (pro-rated quarterly for first time members) plus a $50 application fee.

An Affiliate Member is for those not practicing management consulting  and wish to provide services or products to IMC USA members. Affiliates may include users of management consulting services, academics, technology providers, other professional service providers, journalists, and professional managers.

Affiliate members must abide by the IMC USA Code of Ethics and support the mission of the Institute.
Benefits: Affiliate members are NOT voting members and may not receive the full benefits of the Institute.
Dues: Annual dues are $495 (pro-rated quarterly for first time members) plus a $50 application fee.

An ICMCI Associate member is a non-U.S. member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) in other countries who wants to join IMC USA in addition to their "home country" IMC. ICMCI Associate members are required to provide proof of membership in good standing in their home institute.
Benefits: ICMCI Associate members are not voting members and may not receive the full benefits of the Institute [what does this last statement mean?].
Dues: Annual dues are $80 (pro-rated quarterly for first time members) and require no application fee.

Register as a Guest Member to receive email notifications of events and news from IMC USA for a period of 90 days. Guests create a complimentary profile to view some members-only portions of the website but are not considered IMC USA members. Some site content is not visible to Guests.
Dues: There are no dues to join as a Guest for 90 days.
 

Other Membership Options

IMC USA offers other member categories beyond the Professional membership. Members may apply for the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation, Certified members may apply for CMC Emeritus status, and Professional Members who are partially or fully retired can become a Retired Member.
